The fourth round of the Badminton League changed the position at the top. Skovshoved lost the league lead with a narrow defeat to Team Skælskør-Slagelse, while Højbjerg/ViaBiler are still unbeaten with a win over KMB2010.

After last week’s triumph against Vendsyssel, Team Skælskør-Slagelse had to try to build on the great result against the undefeated top team, Skovshoved. It was a close affair of 5-4 for the home team, which thus breaks Skovshoved’s winning streak.

Right from the start, Team Skælskør-Slagelse showed muscle against two victories in mixed doubles, but Line Christophersen brought Skovshoved back on track. Rasmus Gemke also won his match for the visitors. Four games went into three sets, and here the home team managed to stay the distance and take home a victory for the second week in a row.

Odense OBK had not yet won this season of the Badminton League, but in the fourth round and at home against Gentofte, the Finns finally succeeded. With a convincing victory of 7-2, Odense OBK crawls away from the threatening relegation zone.

Two matches went in three sets that went in each team’s favor: Adam Hall/Maiken Fruergaard from Odense OBK beat Kasper Antonsen/Christine Busch Andreasen in a close match with the numbers 21-19, 19-21, 21-18. In men’s doubles, Gentofte won with Rasmus Prasz Espersen/Matthias Kicklitz.

Højbjerg/ViaBiler are still undefeated. KMB2010 still has its first victory to its credit. Last year’s silver winners dominated the doubles category, winning both the mixed and men’s doubles matches as well as the women’s doubles.

On the other hand, KMB2010 challenged in the singles category, where they won three matches. Only Karan Rajan Rajarajan won his men’s singles for Højbjerg/ViaBiler with 21-12, 21-18 over Patrick Seitzberg Abildgaard.

Værløse also went into tonight’s showdown against Solrød Strand with a good winning streak, but VB met a crushing Solrød Strand, who rose on top of the previous round’s defeat. Several matches, however, offered drama and close matches, where the losing side in a set rarely had less than 15 points.

In women’s singles Mia Blichfeldt narrowly wins against Julie Dawall Jakobsen with 21-18, 22-20, and in women’s doubles the two faced each other again in a close match. Together with Alexandra Bøje, Blichfeldt grabs the victory over Dawall and partner Amalie Cecilie Kudsk with 25-23, 19-21, 21-18.

The champions from Vendsyssel also had to get back on track, and they succeeded in Aarhus. The big victory of 7-2 was cemented with a wild finish, where Debora Jille/Cheryl Seinen beat Aarhus AB’s Gabriela Svetoslavova Stoeva/Stefnia Svetoslavova Stoeva with 18-21, 23-21, 21-19.
