The Badminton League and the Live rating system….”is it as difficult to do as in Sweden?”

”…….is it as difficult to do as in Sweden?”

Quote from Christian Lund Ruus

….in some comments on my post on fb on October 12, 2022.

“Is it as difficult to do as in Sweden, the league that has its own website, fully updated with team lineups 3 hours before the start of the match, full live update of all matches and hyperlink for streaming of ALL matches.

It is professional and not something amateur like in Denmark, Badminton Denmark has a lot to learn in relation to promoting league play.

A little about the Swedish league:

“The league consists of 8 maintains, they play home and away against each other in total 14 preliminary matches. No. 3 and 6 and 4 and 5 play in the quarter-finals, the winners meet No. 1 and 2 to reach the finals.

They play 6 matches per team match 2x hs and one match of each in the other categories. It is played to 11, best of 5 sets, at 3-3 in the team match, Golden sets are played.

No requirement for the number of foreigners. There are many Danes who do not play in the Danish league, who earn good money and gain experience in winning games under pressure.

The squads in the Swedish league are typically 12-15 players, to play in the playoffs you need min. had played 5 matches.

All the teams’ gross squads can of course also be seen on the website https://www.badmintonligan.se/Lag/”

Thanks to Christian for your comments!

Think I’ve never looked at the Swedish league!

I wonder how many people are interested in and follow the leagues in the European countries and, for example, the highly profiled and hyped team matches in India and Malaysia?

Could we learn something? Of course we can learn something!

If only for the fact that we spectators need one common website The Badminton League with standings, match summary, results, hyperlinks to dwell streaming, on-line rating, club websites, fb, Twitter, youtube and so on, and much more data about each player – age, nationality, results and so on – general background info!

Now make it more accessible. And in my world preferably with Danish players! Whether it should be with the current 9 games, the traditional 13 games, 5 games or, as in Sweden, 6 games, I have a hard time making up my mind.
