Last hours of waiting before the start of the 2022 World Senior Judo Championships, scheduled at the Humo Arena in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) from 6 to 13 October. In reality we start today with the drawing ceremony of all the scoreboards, while tomorrow the first world championship medals will be awarded.

The calendar of the event is the same as that of the Olympic Games, with two individual categories per day (one male and one female) up to mixed team trial which will close the World Cup program on Thursday 13 October.

Italy, not enrolled in the Team Event, fielded a total of 18 athletes (9 men and 9 women) with the aim of improving the loot collected in the last edition of Budapest (1 silver) and conquering important placings with a view to Olympic qualification towards Paris 2024.
