The Washington Football Team won seven games last year without having a name or a real starting quarterback. They paid more to acquire Wentz than one would expect. He’s a quarterback that inspires as little enthusiasm as the Commanders name. Given how quickly the previous two teams wanted to part with Wentz and his highly inconsistent, turnover-rich performances, the question remains whether this is an improvement from last year.
Before Washington gave Wentz command of offense, the Commanders were 50-1 to win the Super Bowl. After that, the odds rose to 70:1. While Washington fans are disappointed, the team is expected to record eight wins this year.

Below is the SWOT analysis of the Commanders.
SWOT-Analyse
Strengths
From 2017 through 2021, Washington systematically selected defensive players for the front seven in the first round of the NFL draft. All selected players are expected to serve – and excel – in 2022. Chase Young is the figurehead of the group, even if he missed the second half of an already disappointing season through injury.
Calling a unit that ranked 28th in yards per pass attempt and just 1.1 takeaways per game a strength is almost unfamiliar. But with the talent they’ve built, there has to be improvement.
Weaknesses
Part of the reason why we’re going on defense in Washington is on offense. Taylor Heinicke threw 15 interceptions and added seven fumbles. To improve this, Washington traded two good draft picks for Wentz and his 66 fumbles in six seasons. Wentz only had seven interceptions last season after throwing 15 interceptions in his last season with the Commanders. Has he started a new chapter or has he benefited from the Colts’ offense that was a big help in Jonathan Taylor?
Opportunities
Oddly enough, Young is the one we want to picture. Does he stick to the defense plan? This will show us if the Commanders can keep the game manageable so that they can ask little of Wentz.
Risks (Threats)
Rivera’s teams tend to produce fairly consistent results, a direct contrast to what we’ve come to expect from Wentz. A positive attitude toward Washington can quickly evaporate, but so can a negative one. It is best to avoid this pre-season team in any betting market.
