May 26, 1931 — October 15, 2022
June Nelson Whitehead was born on May 26,1931, the daughter of Hugh Alan and Blanche Cornwall. June passed away peacefully in Kelowna on October 15, 2022.
June leaves behind her children Warren (Debbie), Ken (Linda), Judy, and Geri; grandchildren Brent (Aleta), Jason (Laura), Kimberly (Zach), Braden (Sarah), Garrett, Colin, Riki-Lynn (Ed), and Kaylee (Tyler); and great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Brooklyn, Kassidy, Josephine, Gemma, Penelope, Maddax, Caden and Aliyah. June was predeceased by her sisters Eva and Joan; husbands Currie McKenzie, Jack Carson and Ted Whitehead; thus also leaving behind beloved children, grands and greats of Jack and Ted.
June was born in Vancouver, and moved to Kamloops where she attended high school and was crowned Miss Kamloops in 1949.
June was an incredible designer and drapery seamstress. She was active in curling and enjoyed watching baseball and golf. She loved to travel. Her favorite destinations were England, New York, Mexico, and a very special cabin retreat at Francois Lake with Ted and family.
June will be sadly missed by many dear family and friends.
There will be a family gathering at graveside in Ashcroft at a later date.
