[아시아경제 영남취재본부 김용우 기자] Gumi City, Gyeongsangbuk-do held the 15th Gumi Saemaul Cup Open Badminton Tournament at the Park Chung-hee Gymnasium for two days from the 26th to the 27th.
About 1,200 badminton clubs from 12 cities and provinces nationwide competed in this competition hosted by the Gumi City Sports Association and supervised by the Gumi City Badminton Association (President Kim Il-soo).
The tournament was held for the first time in three years, and the matches were divided into men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles by age (20s to 60s) and grade (A to D), and were held in the form of preliminary and final tournaments.
Jang In-soo, head of the Sports Promotion Division, said, “Badminton is a sport that is greatly loved for its thrilling, fast-paced game and cheerful sound from the shuttlecock.”
