BBL: Hamburg Towers with turkey power to Crailsheim | Sports

Most recently there was Schmalhan’s chef at the Towers. Hamburg’s basketball players didn’t win a game in November. And applauded three times in a row with more than 100 points

Before the BBL away game on Saturday in Crailsheim (8.30 p.m., Magenta Sport), there was a big feast on Thursday: the team met for Thanksgiving dinner in the VIP room of the arena.

Turkey power for the towers!

“Any opportunity where you can spend time together off the pitch is a good opportunity,” says coach Raoul Korner (48). However, the gourmet emphasizes: “The team chemistry is not our problem.”

A caterer supplied two turkeys, and the professionals brought the side dishes with them. “We can’t eat too much,” grins point guard Kendale McCullum (26). “We’ve got a long bus tour ahead of us.” The single contributed cinnamon rolls from his specialty dessert shop. Says, “It’s hard for us Americans not to be with family on this holiday. Those little moments with the team really help us. We can enjoy being together, laughing.”

Like the Towers, the Merlins recently fought with far too many baskets allowed. “Crailsheim is also still looking a bit to see what works for them. Especially on the defensive side,” says Korner and warns. “This is a very dangerous team that plays with a lot of energy, especially at home.” And therefore demands: “We have to stand on the throwers’ feet.”

With turkey in your stomach, nothing should be easier than that…
