Dortmund beat VfL Bochum 3-0 in the last home game of 2022. With two fantastic hits from super talent Youssoufa Moukoko. One reminds a Dortmund hit of the century from 25 years ago…
BVB is now undefeated for six competitive games in a row and jumps to third place in the table. The Bochum team remain away from home without (!) a point this season…

Bochum-Doc kicks his own player in the head
A Bochum scene, we will certainly see it again in the season review: VfL professional Losilla is lying on the ground by his team doctor Dr. Karl-Heinz Bauer kicked in the head because he slipped on the wet grass… A terrible scene, the Bochumer’s head banged to the side. A slip that turns into a nasty accident! But fortunately without consequences for Losilla remains.
The Doc after the game to BILD: “I want to help, run to the square quickly — slide away and kick Losilla! Clearly yellow card for me! Thank God nothing happened.”
Back to the game: VfL is playing with the oldest starting XI in its Bundesliga history (average age 31.0 years) — and looks pretty old against Dortmund’s wild youngsters!
8. Minute: Moukoko sits down on Ordez on the right, pulls in the middle and slams the thing under the bar from 17 meters into the goal. 1:0! What a hammer! But what is goalkeeper Riemann doing there? He only raises his arm slightly, as if he thought the ball would go over it anyway…
The Bochumers want to have seen a foul on Ordez, complain heavily – but are dismissed by referee Stieler.
A record goal! The Dortmund super talent is the youngest Bundesliga player of all time with ten Bundesliga goals! The previous record holder is Florian Wirtz, who scored his tenth goal at the age of 18 years and 145 days. Moukoko is only 17 years and 350 days old.
A goal towards Qatar? According to BILD information, Moukoko should have a good chance of being in the World Cup squad after Werner’s injury. This dream goal should have eliminated the last doubts of national coach Hansi Flick.
11. Minute: 911! Lampropoulos falls Malen. The Bochum residents complain again. Again in vain.
12. Minute: Reyna with a very slow start – and pushes the ball in cool! The 2:0! It was his 8th Bundesliga goal overall, overtaking his father Claudio, who had scored seven times for Wolfsburg in the 1990s.
27. Minute: Hofmann hits the goal with a nice lifter with links. cheers! But only for a short time! The video referee checks the scene and decides: No goal! The Bochumer is one foot offside.
42. Minute: Danilo Soares acts a little impetuously in the penalty area against Reyna, who goes down. Referee Stieler decides Elfer, but then looks at the scene again on the monitor himself – and takes back his decision!
45 minutes + 2: Moukoko’s next dream goal! The super talent lifts the ball from around 35 meters over Riemann, who was positioned far too far in front of the goal. 3:0! Mouko cool!
A goal reminiscent of Lars Ricken’s goal of the century in the 1997 Champions League final against Juventus. When Ricken met then, Moukoko was not yet born. Ex-star striker Karl-Heinz Riedle during the break at Sky: “The goal is real like it was then. Both have shirt number 18.”
47. Minute: Osei-Tutu shoots from the left, Kobel directs the ball to the inside of the post!
57. Minute: Almost the third Moukoko goal! The striker tanks through in the middle, but pushes the ball just past.
In the 67th minute, Marco Reus came on from the bench after his injury break. Cheers from the fans! A sign to Hansi Flick that the BVB captain is ready for the World Cup.
73. Minute: Hummels and Schlotterbeck bang their heads in the penalty area and both go down. Hummels is knocked out on the ground, bleeding on the left side of the forehead. He can be seen slowly moving his arms while being treated. Then he can get up again and continue playing with band-aids.
Kuriose Szene: One of the BVB doctors or physios slips next to Hummels and straddles Guerreiro to the ground. The Portuguese takes it with a laugh…
It gets even wilder: As team doctor Dr. Bauer kicks his own professional in the head. Symbolic for the entire Bochum appearance in the derby: a slip!
