David Lloyd celebrates 40 years since the opening of his first club David Lloyd Heston

David Lloyd Leisure is Europe’s leading health, sport and leisure group. It operates 101 clubs in the UK and another 15 in the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany and France, and is now the largest racquets, health and fitness operator in Europe. Its goal for 2023 is to add 150 centers. The chain is now celebrating the 40th anniversary since the first David Lloyd Heston Club opening.

The business network is made up of three groups: Meridian Spa & Fitness in Germany and Harbor Clubs, as well as David Lloyd Clubs. Internationally, it has more than 700,000 subscribers and 10,000 workers. Nearly 700 are tennis professionals, one of the chain’s most important activities, in addition to the 2,000 dedicated to fitness and health. The combination of these leading racket, health and fitness brands has created a broad portfolio of family-oriented clubs with unmatched facilities and service levels for members.

Between all its clubs, David Lloyd has more than 180 swimming pools and offers more than 13,000 guided activity classes each week. Its racket sports facilities are second to none: more than 1,000 tennis courts, 180 badminton courts and 140 squash courts. They also offer excellent children’s training programmes: every week 25,000 children learn to swim and 16,000 learn to play tennis in their clubs.

Its offer goes far beyond the magnificent fitness facilities, they also have health and beauty spas, lounges with free Wi-Fi, nurseries and specialized sports shops.

The British gym chain has invested more than 54 million euros in our country in the 7 operating centers and the eighth, underway.
