Exhibition > Nadal: “In modern tennis, everything goes so fast that you don’t have time to think”

During his press conference before the first leg of his South American tour in Argentina, a rather relaxed Rafael Nadal answered several questions about current tennis. The Spaniard delivers a pragmatic analysis of the game’s evolving situation.

« Today, everything is going so fast that you don’t have time to think. Tennis has changed. When I arrived on the circuit, the game was different and we had to adapt to the times. Previously, the points were prepared. Today, there is no real preparation for points, the players look for the hard blow as soon as a small opportunity exists. With nostalgia, I say that I like this sport more with tactics and reflection, something that today is difficult to put into practice”.
