2:50 p.m. -81kg: Pietri inspired
He will have had to wait for the golden score, but Loic Pietri’s uchi-mata sukashi against Baptiste Pierre is undoubtedly one of the moves that we will remember from this Saturday. A golden score ippon which sends the Niçois to the final where he will find the young Spiros Eleftheriadis! A generational battle.

2:35 p.m. -60kg: A Bouda/Raoul Hebrard final
Champion of France 2019, Romaric Bouda (Eure Judo) will have the opportunity to seek a second coronation with his victory in the semi-final against Richard Vergnes (JC Chilly Mazarin Morangis). A counter on the back then an uki-waza and here is the Normand in the final. He will find Théo Raoul-Hebrard (JC Maisons Alfort), winner of Maxime Merlin (AJA Paris XX), on a not very obvious ko-uchi-gari when Merlin had apparently taken the initiative for a snatch. Second consecutive final for Raoul Hebrard.

1:45 p.m. Dumont and Eleftheriadis, surprise guests
We frankly did not expect him at such a wedding. But advancing quietly, Manoah Dumont (-66kg), vice-champion of France juniors 2022 will know his first senior final after beating Thomas Jaffart (JC Chilly Mazarin Morangis) on a ko-uchi-makikomi during a very golden score open. In the final he will find William Cysique (Sucy Judo), undoubtedly one of the most elegant judokas of the day. The latter overcame Maxime Gobert on penalties.
In -81kg, same pattern for Spiros Eleftheriadis (JC Chilly Mazarin Morangis). Also vice-champion of France juniors, the latter beats Emir Janfaoui… on penalties.
A configuration which is already one of the great lessons of the day.

1:10 p.m. -52kg: De Carvalho for a first final!
Very badly embarked in her semi-final against Léonie Gonzalez (RCF Judo), Alya De Carvalho, still a junior, did not give up and came back to score thanks to her uchi-mata a few seconds from the end of regulation time! Then at the start of the golden score, she pushed the Racingwoman on her back for a second waza-ari synonymous with the final. She will face Julie Weill dit Morey (ESBM Judo), victorious over Chloé Devictor with the golden score. There will therefore be a new French champion of -52kg this afternoon.

1:10 p.m. The -73kg semi-finals
OTMANE Luca (PSG Judo) – TCHAKALA Jovick (JC Pithiviers)
RIQUIN Théo (Sainte-Geneviève Sports) – AXUS Benjamin (AJA Paris XX)

1:00 p.m. -73kg: Axus in the last four
Tension, spectacle. Here is a fight as we like them between Benjamin Axus (AJA Paris XX) and Enzo Gibelli (OJ Nice). Obviously embarrassed by Axus’ reach, Gibelli tried his luck with his yoko-tomoe-nage and his shoulder movements. But on an attempt, Axus shifted to counter the Niçois. Waza-ari. Gibelli rushed to the attack and placed to the delight of the spectators present a flexible rear that put Axus on the back. Ippon? No because the supervisors believed that Gibelli had belted the holder of the world championships in a direct way. The crowd booed the decision as Axus skillfully preserved his advantage.

ELEFTHERIADIS Spiros (JC Chilly-Mazarin Morangis) – JANFAOUI Emir (UJ Brief Limousin Correction)
PIERRE Baptiste (Dojo Béglais) – PIETRI Loïc (OJ Nice)

12h4 Pietri file and demi !
An immobilization after 1’36 in the golden score against Joris Guillot-Rosselot, vice champion of France 2019 and current coach of the Nantes hope center, and here is Loic Pietri in the semi-finals of these French championships.

12:40 p.m. -81kg: Stone trap Gnamien

There are only fifteen seconds left when Baptiste Pierre (Dojo Béglais) goes behind the back of Tizie Gnamien, in silver at the European Championships -23 years old, to unroll him on the shoulder bar.
A waza-ari which sends the Béglais to the semi-finals.

12:00 p.m. -48kg: Espadinha more active than Urdiales
This is one of the first trends of this first day of the French championships: many fights end in victory at the shidos. The last example with the quarter-final between Manon Urdiales (JC Pontault-Combault), reigning French champion and Laura Espadinha (ESBM Judo) who manages to bring down the third fatal penalty.

11:30 a.m. -81kg: Aregba beaten at the start
Superb European champion -23 years old last week in Sarajevo, it is disillusionment for Arnaud Aregba this Saturday in Toulon. Opposed to Emir Janfaoui (UJ Brive CL), the PSG judoka was looking to place his famous uchi-mata. But on an action of this type, Janfaoui, a formidable blocker, managed to turn the shoulder line of the vice world junior champion. Waza-ari with one minute and thirty seconds left. Aregba then sought to bring down the third shido, which did not fall. Worse, on the last action of the fight, Janfaoui again countered the PSG Judo fighter.

10:40 a.m. Pietri treats
Originally from Nice, Loic Pietri fights almost at home. His ko-uchi-makikomi on the left against Fabien Le Touze (SGS Judo) was also greeted by many applause a few minutes ago. On the mat next door, Manon Urdiales, reigning French champion -48kg, continues her merry way, beating Alicia Pierson (Vosges Judo) on penalties.

10:15 a.m. Championships… for referees too
They will be, for the most part, on the tatami mats of these French senior championships 1re division in Toulon this weekend. Them ? The national elite of French referees. A pool of about thirty referees classified throughout the year according to their rating (out of 20 each time) on national events (French cadet, junior, individual and team championships, veterans, cup of France minimal, 2e et 3e division…), then “ranked” as follows at the start of these championships, the continental, world and Olympic referees being ranked at the international level. First competition as a continental referee for Bertrand Gammacurta and François Langlet, received at the B exam a few weeks ago.

National ranking referees 1st division

09:50. Bouda, Devictor and Cazorla continue on their way
Victory full of authority for Romaric Bouda against the young Zacharie Dijol (Sucy Judo), world cadet champion -55kg this summer. An uchi-mata concludes a well-controlled encounter.
In -52kg Chloé Devictor, vice world and European champion, trained at JC Castellet and therefore at home, won with a nice sumi-gaeshi about twenty seconds from the end against Chloé Demoulin (Montpellier Olympic Judo) .
In -66kg, Orlando Cazorla (ESBM Judo), bronze medalist at the Under-23 European Championships last weekend, slowly but surely returned to his competition, gradually gaining the upper hand physically over Jolan Florimont, forced to false attacks.

09:25. -66kg: Gobert, it’s ok
Opposed to Rodrigue Peraste (JC Suresnes), the new European champion -23 years of -66kg had to work to pass this first round. He finally wins by ippon but will not have had the easy part.

After half an hour the Palais des Sports is already full for an event with free entry.
