ALBA Berlin conceded its first defeat in the German championship on Sunday and especially seven in a row in the Euroleague.
Everything had started perfectly. Three matches, three wins. But since October 19 and having beaten Panathinaikos (94-65), the Berliners have derailed seven times in a row in the Euroleague. Also, ALBA shares last place with Bayern, ASVEL and Milan. And now the men of Israel Gonzalez fell for the first time in the Bundesliga on Sunday against BC Göttingen (95-96).
“We are still a good team. The Escrow we operate is correct. But maybe luck is running out a bit right now,” the coach said after the loss.
Too many players are looking for their best form right now, including nationals Johannes Thiemann and Maodo Lo who have returned from injury. And the whole team is struggling to find the right rhythm. The tight schedule weighs heavily and lacks the necessary freshness.
