This Wednesday, November 2, the municipal council of Grau-du-Roi took place, more peaceful than the previous one which had been relatively stormy in September, particularly around the town’s planning and sustainable development project (PADD). Denis Buchart takes over as head of the sports department.
The municipal team had prepared a frugal menu. Maintaining the autonomy of the elderly, the restoration of the Espiguette lighthouse, the new parking lot at the Espiguette campsite and the arrival in sports of Denis Buchart, judo champion.
Maintaining autonomy
With the creation of an inclusive housing space, accompanied by a social and shared life project carried out by the CCAS, an agreement linking the Gard Departmental Council and the CCAS will be signed. It is established for the inclusive housing project at the Christophe Colomb residence, rue de l’Egalité. Next to the retirement home, these accommodations will be reserved for nine people over the age of 65. Priority will be given to people from Grau-du-Roi assures the town hall. They will benefit from a place to live together with activities orchestrated by the CCAS.
Espiguette in the spotlight
The restoration work on the Espiguette lighthouse will ultimately cost around €53,000 more than expected. Partitions, plasterwork, false ceilings, and changing the heating system will cost more than two million euros in all. Robert Crauste announces that a website dedicated to the lighthouse will be created and the day of the lighthouses of France will take place in Grau-du-Roi in 2023. The town hall has also voted to rent out a plot of 5,000 m², intended to the construction of a temporary extension of the parking lot of the Espiguette campsite, to the right of the entrance, north-east side at the price of €40,000 excluding tax This rent will be reviewed annually according to changes in the ICC index based on that known on the date of signature of the agreement.
Denis Buchart, judo champion head of sports
Finally, two recruitments. Following the retirement of the director of sports services, the town hall has recruited a new sports manager attached to the department of culture, sports, community life and heritage. The 2nd dan black belt judo champion Denis Buchart becomes the city’s sports chief. French sambo champion (Russian wrestling), on the podium of the 2022 French Veteran Judo Cup, this 47-year-old father is currently preparing for the next international judo events. He will be on deck on Monday. Following a transfer on 1 January of an agent from the human resources department, a post of administrative assistant will be created to replace him. Robert Crauste called for appeasement and the council went smoothly.
