Last year’s runner-up Oberwart can pretty much avoid an embarrassment in the Basketball Austria Cup Round of 16. The favorites of the duel between the two opponents of the Win2day Basketball Superliga win 73:70 against the Kapfenberg Bulls.
Unger Steel Gunners Oberwart’s best match against Kapfenberg Bulls cannot be surpassed in excitement. The Gunners look set to win with a ten-point lead at the end of the third quarter. In the final minutes, the Bulls continue to play catch-up, but the final pitch doesn’t want to fall through the ring. The Gunners still win with 73:70.
The reigning BC Vienna Cup champion also managed to qualify for the quarter-finals. The Viennese have to fight against the valiant fighters Swarco Raiders Tirol for a surprisingly long time. Ultimately, however, the people of Innsbruck cannot compete with the quality of win2day’s BSL champions. The Viennese triumphed with 93:72.
