Meritorious performance from San Juan | Cuyo’s diary

A meritorious eleventh place, in a total of 25 participants, was achieved by the San Juan judo team that participated last weekend in the Argentine Clausura Championship held in the missionary city of Puerto Piray.

The judokas of the San Juan Federation won five gold and five bronze medals, after two days of competition.

Among the winners from San Juan, who hung the gold medal on their chest, are: Joaquín Sánchez, in sub-21, in category up to 73 kilograms of body weight. In the same division, Agustín Rosas, was third (bronze).

Jeremías Fernández, who had just won bronze at the Pan American, won a gold medal among the sub-21s, up to 90 kg.

They also won a gold medal, Guadalupe Muñoz (under-18 ladies, up to 48 kg); Luz Corral (adults 70 kg) and Domingo Vargas, 90 kg.

While Antonella Riveros, under-15, up to 53 kg, Gianmarco De Leone (up to 60 kg) and Juan Cruz Vargas (up to 81 kg) won bronze among the under-18 boys, and Mauricio Araya, in adult students.
