Due to not having appropriate facilities with staves and security in Querétaro, the National category U13 women’s basketball organized by the Mexican Basketball Sports Association (ADEMEBA), changed its date and venue.
The event was scheduled to be held in October in the state of Corregidora, but now it will take place in December in San Luis Potosí, confirmed the basketball organization.
In the same way, the national men’s branch that would take place in Sonora in December, was toured for this month of November in the same border state.
Morelos was ready to participate with his two teams after the selection of both branches held on the first weekend of October, however, the rescheduling of the women’s event will give her the opportunity to continue preparing for the new date.
This was confirmed by ADEMEBA Morelos through its president, Manuel Montenegro Almanza, when referring to the changes in dates and venues.
“The women’s U13 event was going to be in Querétaro, but there were no courts with a stave and necessary equipment such as an electronic scoreboard, police security, a national guard and an ambulance with paramedics, and San Luis offered to organize it.”
The leader indicated that Morelos was ready for the competition, but from one moment to another it was decided to cancel it on Queretaro soil.
The new date is from December 15 to 18 in Las Tunas territory, ADEMEBA Nacional confirmed.
On the other hand, the men’s national of the same category will be held in Hermosillo, Sonora from November 16 to 20.
For Morelos, in the state selective held in Cuautla in both branches on October 1 and 2, for the men’s the winner was the Soles de Cuernavaca team, while in the women’s the victory was won by the Cuautla quintet named Texas , made up of players from the Cuautla Interschool Sports League.
Both winning squads are the base of the Morelos team that is ready for both commitments.
Regarding the men’s team, Montenegro Almanza said that the team has not been able to arm itself well due to the high costs of the flight.
“We ADEMEBA Morelos are ready with the logistics and the uniforms, we just wait for the coaches to request authorization”, He indicated when announcing that they hope to be able to comply with the missing details to be without setbacks in the event in Sonora, two weeks after leaving for the national one.
