The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) will be the main sponsor of the top-level men’s and women’s basketball leagues in the U18 category in the region for the 2022-2023 season, under the agreement signed by the rector of the institution Castilian-La Mancha academic, José Julián Garde López-Brea, and the president of the Castilla-La Mancha Basketball Federation (Fbclm), José Esteban Gálvez. The agreement “is one more example of the UCLM’s commitment to sports at all levels, especially university and pre-university; and of the different actions that it develops and promotes to connect the academic field with sports practice,” according to a statement made public by both institutions.
With this agreement, both leagues will be officially renamed the UCLM League for Men and the UCLM League for Women, names that will be maintained in the regular season, final phases of the competition and cups related to the competition and the clubs that participate in it and that are the responsibility of the Basketball Federation of Castilla-La Mancha.
The collaboration between the UCLM and the Fblcm will allow “to promote the positioning of both institutions and promote the image and studies of the regional University among the pre-university population and its environment that have a sports link with the Castilla-La Mancha Basketball Federation”.
By this agreement, the UCLM undertakes to provide the logo that will be the image of the UCLM League for men and the UCLM League for women, as well as the rest of the activities related to it; to disseminate the collaboration and the most notorious activities linked to this agreement; and a contribution of 6,500 euros plus VAT.
For its part, the FBCLM undertakes to incorporate a competition logo that reflects the UCLM acronym, use the name of the league that includes the UCLM acronym in all media where the competition is mentioned and include the UCLM acronym. in the name of the league and appoint the academic institution as the main sponsor in all types of audiovisual and communication material that it produces. Likewise, it is the commitment of the Castilla-La Mancha Basketball Federation to allow the regional University to incorporate audiovisual material, billboards and physical supports in the sports facilities where the matches of the final phase and the cup take place, and to promote its academic offer in the competitions.
