ROVIGO – On Sunday 23 October with the finals dedicated to Under 14 baseball the curtain fell on the Coppa Veneto of the rossoblù teams. The final concentration was staged on the diamond in via Vittorio Veneto, which saw the hosts of the Adriatic Lng Baseball Softball Club Rovigo triumph. The young people from Rovigo first passed San Bonifacio with a score of 4-1 and then, in the decisive match, Villafranca with an 11-1 round, all in a day of sport and great fun.
The Under 14 trophy thus further enriches a showcase that this year has already hosted the Veneto Cups won by the Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18 softball categories. But also the second places won by the Under 12 and Under 18 of baseball and the third place of the Under 15, also in baseball, deserve applause. Important results that confirm the quality and competitiveness of the Rovigo nursery, as well as the well-known organizational skills of the rossoblù club, which again this year hosted several final days of the regional competition.
In this season finale, the recent visit to the Tassina diamond by two important diplomatic figures from countries closely linked to the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo deserves to be highlighted. The company chaired by Alessandro Boniolo has in fact opened its doors to the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Myrtle Great Averhoff, and to the charge d’affaires of the embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Maria Elena Uzzo Giannattasio.
The two institutional figures were welcomed in via Vittorio Veneto by all the rossoblù staff, including the Cuban coaches and the Venezuelan players who this year were protagonists of the season. The event consolidates the strong bond existing between the Baseball Softball Club Rovigo and the two overseas countries. Beyond the sporting aspect, the visit of the two diplomats wanted to underline the significant international commitment of the club, which for years has guaranteed a continuous flow of coaches from Cuba and players from Venezuela.
