Zamoran judo is exhibited in the Super Cup of Spain in Avilés

The JUdo from Zamora showed his high level in the Spain Supercup which was held last weekend in Aviles. a quote that brought together the best national judokasbreaking participation records with more than 1,600 athletes in search of trophies in the different categories, including among the attendees many participants who came as guests from Moldova, Romania, Italy, Portugal, Holland or Belgium.

The provincial Judo-Caja Rural team from Zamora traveled to Asturian territory with ten judokas belonging to the Morales Judo Club and the Gokyo Club. An expedition full of illusion that signed good results.

The championship started with the dispute of the cadet category for the Zamoran expedition. And or did without Rubén de Castro or Raúl Fernández could not reach the fight for the metals, nor could Diego Bruna. The three crossed against strong rivals and, despite the fact that Fernández had a play-off option, none reached the decisive matches. Fate similar to that experienced by Sergio Rodriguez in -50 kilos, which went to the second round but did not enter the repechage.

Nor did he have any luck in the women’s box Elena Bahamonde, who in 44 kilos could not obtain a reward for his expertise, although he finished in a creditable ninth place. A position that he improved Sara Ventosa in -63 kilos despite falling in the third round, reaching the playoffs to be one match away from fighting for bronze.

The good cadet performance ended without medals and that absence of loot was maintained in the following categories. As in the junior, in which Miriam Silvares She served as the only representative from Zamora, fighting at a good level to finish seventh in the -48 kilos box after very disputed fights.

The children’s effort did not have the desired success either. Mary Bahamondeat -44kg, fell in the second round and could not advance far enough on the playoff side, while Noa Vicente and Juan Meana they paid for their inexperience by falling in the first round.

Despite the absence of medals, the Judo-Caja Rural de Zamora returned with good feeling from the competitionas the high competitive level of the event made the positions achieved a good sample of the talent that the judokas of the province treasure.
