Organized jointly by the Provincial Government and the Municipality of San Luis, hundreds of people with various disabilities walked the streets of the capital with the aim of sharing with their peers, and enjoying moments of laughter, hugs and lots of sports.
Under the motto “We are One”, this Saturday the runner “My way” was held, in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The objective is to make visible and raise awareness about the rights of people with disabilities to all of society, and promote their well-being in all areas, be it sports, work, education, among others.
Athletes with disabilities from all over the province were present, who traveled “in their own way” the 3 km of the route, which had its starting point at the fountain located at the intersection of Lafinur and Illia avenues.
“We are very happy to organize this meeting again. They are always very emotional and this time was no exception. We were able to share another unforgettable morning with groups from San Luis, Villa Mercedes, La Punta, Naschel and Quines, among other locations”, indicated the head of the Adapted Sports Subprogram, Mariana Luberriaga.
“In San Luis, inclusion is a State policy in all areas, and sport is no exception. Everyone can practice sports on the premises managed by the Sports Secretariat. There will always be some class or discipline adapted for whoever wants to do it, you just have to take the first step,” said the official.
This Saturday’s activity began around 9:00 with a warm-up that included music, dancing and fun. After activation, the participants grouped together at the starting arc to undertake the chosen distance. Everything took place in an environment of harmony and, above all, of great joy.
