Agnel case: wiretapping, confessions… new revelations from the investigation

The new developments in the Agnel case are further overwhelming the former swimmer. While RTL revealed, on Wednesday, that another potential victim had been heard by the courts, the newspaper L’Équipe published a long story on Thursday, fed by the transcription of telephone tapping and what Yannick Agnel told police in December 2021, at the time of his arrest.

While he initially denied the charges against him – namely sexual relations with Naome Horter, the daughter of his former trainer Lionel Horter, a minor at the time – he finally confessed, “in the face of to overwhelming telephone interceptions,” writes the daily. « I’ve had it on my conscience for a while, he said while in police custody. I made the mistake of falling in love, I don’t know if it’s a mistake, we don’t really control that kind of thing. From the start, I was very angry with myself because I wanted her to experience something normal. »

“You have nothing to do with your conscience”

The former athlete evokes an “impossible love”, consensual and mutual touching which however never went as far as penetration. “I didn’t want her to be in pain and to feel bad about it,” Agnel said again. I was torn between excitement and dilemma because I didn’t think it was moral to do it when she was that age. “The investigation specifies that” N. Horter, she affirms that the penetration did take place and that Yannick Agnel wanted to continue but ended up stopping in front of his tears. »

The article also reveals overwhelming telephone tapping, in particular of conversations between Agnel and Sophie Kamoun, his agent, central character of the story to whom the former swimmer came when he heard of the complaint filed against him, in early December 2021 “You have to be super ready and I think the best line of defense is to say: Another shot from the Horter family, Kamoun then told him. You can’t help but deny. There will always be doubt, never proof. When Agnel has scruples about denying it, Kamoun reframes him: “You don’t give a fuck, you have nothing to do with your conscience, she consented! […] She’ll have it on her conscience for the rest of her life! Accusing someone of rape when she consented, oh! […] Are you kidding or what? “With L’Equipe, Kamoun evokes a spontaneous reaction to defend Agnel, whom she considers to be her “second son”.
