– José Alvarado no longer needs to steal balls deceitfully to be talked about in the NBA. The Pelicans point guard released the game of his life tonight against Denver. Alvarado had never topped 29 points in the NCAA. Against the Nuggets, he was simply in a state of grace (38 pts with 8 3-point baskets) and Jokic’s band never adapted to the fact that he would be the main offensive weapon of the day for NOLA. Whenever his team needed to pick up or stop a comeback, Alvarado struck.
