Marriages in Westland should also be possible for people over the age of 72, according to the Westland faction.
The faction wants to raise this on Wednesday evening during the council meeting in Westland. “This is age discrimination that is out of place,” the group said. “Other municipalities either do not apply an age requirement or set it at 75 years, see Almelo for example. Why doesn’t that happen in Westland?”, says Westland Wise.
The question is called urgent because of the effective date of 1 January 2023 of the so-called Implementation Decree on marriage ceremonies in the municipality of Westland 2023.
