Pescara. “A 2022 full of satisfactions for the Abruzzo Paralympic sport without the pandemic obstacle”, writes the CIP Abruzzo Regional Committee. “Recently in Pescara, the welcoming Auditorium Cerulli-Casa delle Arti hosted the usual annual party promoted by the CIP Regionale Abruzzo by Mauro Sciulli, together with the CIP Pescara delegation by Simona Placiduccio to do the honors for the hospitality, in concert with the municipal administration of Pescara represented by the president of the municipal council Marcello Antonelli, by the councilors Patrizia Martelli (sport) and Maria Pia Carota (culture), in addition to the presence of the regional president Coni Abruzzo Enzo Imbastaro. A great sign of the will to do so that sport can be an authentic bulwark for implementing social inclusion. There are about eighty clubs (about 1,600 practicing athletes) regularly affiliated to sports bodies recognized by the Italian Paralympic Committee”.
Mauro Sciulli said: “Beyond its social role, Paralympic sport is a fundamental component of the welfare of our country. To date, our Paralympic sports movement is synonymous with a large inclusive family and for this reason we are observing a real cultural revolution not only within our borders but far beyond. This is a moment to ride in order to better frame the Paralympic sports activities and disciplines. I am enthusiastic in the institutional role I hold for the results we have achieved both at a regional, national and international level. All activities start from a territorial base thanks to the exploits of our athletes but above all to the efforts of the technicians and managers behind the scenes who are the engine and the basis for achieving the desired results. Abruzzo is becoming a region accessible to 360 degrees between activities, both on the coast and in the mountains. We are developing protocols together with the Universities to fill this gap within the institutions, to have accessible structures and greater attention also for the staff”.
