Compagnie des Archers montechois: increasing numbers

Sport, friendliness and good humor are the watchwords of the Archers Montechois company.

Opening the general meeting of the Compagnie des Archers montechois, President Mélanie Bonnafé recalled the objectives of the association, which are learning archery, teaching, practice at all levels, from leisure to competition, practice suitable for all ages and the discovery of this discipline through discovery sessions in schools.

“We ended the season with 77 members, an increase of 142%. We welcomed 57 children aged 7 to 18 and 20 adults, all categories combined.”

The stability of the company, the strengthening of the management office and access to training will be the priorities for the coming year. In addition, four assistant coaches have been trained this year and Nicolas Bonnafé is in full training to become a federal referee.

“As president and invested in community life, I was elected to the departmental archery committee as treasurer”, announced Mélanie Bonnafé.

In the activity report, there are playful afternoons: Halloween, Easter, Christmas, birthdays… to the delight of little archers and even adults!

The departmental committee having decided to no longer organize the As trophy in Montech, a friendly meeting is offered to licensees and parents with a picnic.

The archers have resumed the path of competition. A dozen archers are proud to represent the company on the shooting ranges. Departmental titles have been won among the chicks with Matis, the youngest with Sam, the cadets with Romain and Sarah, the seniors with Mélanie.

Some were selected for the Occitanie championship, Matis, Sarah, Loane, Romain, Charlie, proudly defended their club in Muret. Nicolas and Mélanie went to Auch.

For information or reminder, the selections are made on an average of results, which imposes attendance at federal competitions and by default at training.

The president also recalled that the company was present at the forum of associations, at the Emilie-de-Rodat school, in Finhan, and at Alae.

Before going to the vote to elect the members of the board of directors, the president thanked Jean-Claude Delprat, who had resigned, for all the work done over the years within the company and to whom he had been offered a gift.
