In kendo 5th dan for Riccardo Landi, in judo black belt for Giacinto Cerviere
The national exams for passing grade, from third to fifth dan, for the CIK, Italian Kendo Confederation, were held in the Cus gymnasium in Modena.
Great satisfaction for the Furinkazan Kendo Ferrara which saw, among 6 promoted out of 30 candidates, Riccardo Landi who, with great determination, passed the selective tests and techniques of kata (form) and jigeiko (fight) with flying colors and obtained great merit the degree of 5th dan.
“I am very satisfied with Riccardo’s performance – underlines the Furinkazan Kendo instructor Gianluca Landi, in the double role of technician and Riccardo’s father – also because six seventh dan kendo masters from all over Italy were present to examine him. He is joined by the second dan of Simone Lodi, who took the exam last month. Ours is a small group of kendoka, but we are obtaining flattering results that give us hope for the future of our discipline still very unknown to many even in the Ferrara area”.

Another black belt is added to the Furinkazan judo register with Giacinto Cerviere, born in 1966, who, in Castel Maggiore in the province of Bologna, hits an important milestone becoming, in fact, the second black belt in the history of the Ferrara-led association by master Accursio Guardino. Coming from all over Emilia Romagna, this morning 107 athletes and aspiring coaches descended on the tatami of the Fijlkam Regional Technical Center who took the first, second, third dan and qualification exams of the Italian federation judo fight karate and martial arts .
“Gianni, as we affectionately call him, – underlines master Accursio Guardino, technical teacher of Furinkazan Judo who has supervised preparation – he has a long background as a judoka and has made a beautiful journey, very tiring, both in terms of technical and athletic preparation being, so to speak, no longer a young man. For this result we must also thank his Uke, that is, his exam partner Emanuele Barcaro who has always supported him and who has proved to be an excellent partner up to the important task. I am very satisfied with his result and with how he tackled the difficult theoretical and practical tests that he passed with excellent grades. All of this bodes well for the progress of our young athletes.”
