- The Condor Awards were delivered, the traditional ceremony organized by the Córdoba Sports Agency.
- In addition to the great award of the night, 17 silver Condors were awarded.
- Special awards were also given.
With the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium as the main stage, the most anticipated year-end event for athletes, coaches, leaders and those close to the sport took place. The Condor Awards had their 2022 edition, in a ceremony marked by emotion.
Club Atlético Belgrano won two silver Condors: Amateur Team Sport (through its women’s soccer team) and Professional Team Sport (through its men’s soccer team). In addition, the highest prize was awarded: the Golden Condor.
Luis Fabián Artime, president of the institution, thanked the awards through a communication via zoom since he is in Qatar, witnessing the soccer world cup. This award was also celebrated by Pablo Vegetti, Mariana Sánchez, Romina Gómez and Maximiliano Luján, sports leaders of the institution.
Along with the Golden Condor, the winners of the 17 silver Condors were announced. In addition, special distinctions were given to sports merit, career, e-Sports and all athletes who represented the Province in the XII South American Games Asunción 2022 and in the III South American Youth Games Rosario 2022.
Héctor Campana, president of the Córdoba Sports Agency, was in charge of opening the ceremony congratulating all those present for the great sporting year. Later, he made reference to the traditional Condor: “The awards, beyond the recognition of the effort of the athletes, leaders, federations and clubs, is a moment to get together among all of us who make up the sports family.”
He also emphasized: “The results have been very good this year in Córdoba, and we still started it with the pandemic. We close a historic year for sports in the province, not only with football but with many sports disciplines where great achievements have been made.”
National Senator Alejandra Vigo was present at the delivery, together with provincial and municipal authorities.
The prizes that fly high
Every end of the year comes the time to make balances in many aspects. One of them occurs in the sporting field. On the local scene, in the provincial territory, the most outstanding athletes of the year look forward to being represented in a shortlist. Beyond finally winning the statuette, the mere fact of being shortlisted is already a recognition of the daily effort and constant dedication that requires training, sacrifice and perseverance.
And these emotions were present at the Condor Awards ceremony. This was reflected in the faces of all those present in an emotional and hot sunset in the vicinity of the main field of Mario Alberto Kempes.
