Nuggets rally to beat Suns 128-125 in overtime

Nikola Jokic scored another colossal triple-double, Aaron Gordon added a crucial overtime dunk and the Denver Nuggets rallied to beat the Phoenix Suns 128-125 on Sunday.

Jokic had 41 points, 15 boards and 15 assists for the 83rd triple-double of his career. The two-time reigning NBA MVP had a 40-point, 27-rebound and 10-assist performance a week ago.

Phoenix star Devin Booker lasted just 4:20 minutes in his return from a groin injury, scoring twice after contributing 58 points against New Orleans in his previous start.

Jamal Murray tied the score in the fourth quarter for Denver with a dunk with 10.7 seconds to go. But it was Gordon’s dunk in overtime that led the Nuggets to victory. Initially, the referees called an offensive foul, but after reviewing the images of the play, they determined that Landry Shamet was moving, which gave Gordon the basket and a free throw.

Phoenix had a chance to tie it in the final seconds of overtime, but they deflected a pass.

The Nuggets improved to 2-6 in games over Christmas. His other win came in 1994 against Seattle.
