On Sunday morning, the athletes of the “Judo Kodokan Cesena 1966” sports group demonstrated their grit to everyone at the “Okada Judo Trophy” open to various organizations and federations. The best athletes from the Marches and many other Italians who came especially for this trophy were present at the event.
After verification of the athletes’ identities and weight, the fights began. The meetings directed by Judges and Referees of the Ado (oriental disciplines association) and of the Fijlkam Federation continued throughout the morning on two tatami (judo mats).
The Kodokan Cesena took part in the event with seven athletes ready to win the first places on the podium: rookie B: Samuele Romagnoli, cadet: Riccardo Santoro and finally the seniors: Marco Brandolini, Andrea Maggiolini, Matteo Ferrari and finally the girls, Cristina Rossi and Jessica Dicky. The first to get on the tatami (mat), is the reigning Italian champion Samuele Romagnoli who defeats his opponents and still ranks first, it is Marco Brandolini’s turn who, despite being 45 kg in weight, must be beaten with the 60 kg category , it’s tough, but like lightning he lands everyone and his result is the highest step of the podium is his, simultaneously on the tatami two Matteo Ferrari doesn’t give up and lands all his opponents and he too ranks first, he is the now of Andrea Maggiolini who finds really strong opponents who in the end has to give up the final and is classified second.
Around one o’clock they call our cadet Riccardo Santoro who proceeds very well but fails to get on the top step of the podium. he has to settle for a third place. Finally it’s up to Cristina Rossi and Jesica Dicky Casadei who fight really well, continue to win and the final, the first ranks second and the other first. Great satisfaction for the Cesena fans and in particular for the master Vladimiro Burioli, seven dan judo, who has been taking care of his students with dedication and professionalism for years, and the competitive manager Michael Zoffoli fourth dan instructor, who presented a well-qualified team in this competition prepared. At the end of the race the result is more satisfying: four firsts, two seconds and a third. The President Raffaella Molari black belt 2nd dan Instructor wishes all the athletes of the Cesena club a sporting year full of positive results.
