One step taken | Football Club de Metz – FC Metz Info – FC Metz Training

A few days after a frustrating sharing of points at home against Chamois Niortais (0-0), the Garnets once again took out the warm-up blue. On this occasion, Matthieu Udol and his teammates moved on the lawn of Grenoble Foot 38.

This 17th meeting in the Ligue 2 BKT championship forced Laszlo Bölöni to modify his starting lineup since Kevin N’Doram, touched against Niort, was absent, as was Ibrahima Niane. Thus, Habib Maïga and Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly returned to the field at kick-off.

In the Alps, the Messins were determined to raise mountains and thus quickly took the ascendancy. In his right lane, Lamine Gueye was close to offering his first Ligue 2 BKT goal to Cheikh Tidiane Sabaly. An express return prevented the pocket winger from shaking the nets (6°).

A few minutes later, Lamine Gueye got two opportunities. The number 20 garnet was sorely lacking in effectiveness since these two attempts fled the frame (11°, 12°). Georges Mikautadze was not successful either. His gesture was however perfect but it was without counting on the high class parade of Brice Maubleu (19 °).

Shortly after the half-hour mark, the Grenats thought they could take advantage of high pressure from Georges Mikautadze when Brice Maubleu launched a full-axis ball. Danley Jean Jacques recovered the leather and saw the empty goal but his attempt was too hasty to find the frame (35°).

Back from the locker room, the Garnets continued to put pressure on the opposing goal and were quickly rewarded. Unbalanced at the entrance to the surface, Georges Mikautadze obtained an ideal free kick. Fali Candé seized the ball and placed a clear and unstoppable shot whose trajectory ended in the skylight of helpless Brice Maubleu (0-1, 51°).

Timid so far, Grenoble Foot 38 tried to react. It took an excellent Alexandre Oukidja to repel the vicious shot from Mathias Phaëton (70°) then to lie down at the feet of Pape Meissa Ba (71°).

Jostled during the last quarter of an hour of the game, the club at the Croix de Lorraine finally managed to keep their short advantage without being too worried. The Grenats therefore bring back a precious success (0-1) and go back to sixth place with 25 units on the clock.
