  • The new year will start with a very important objective for the athletes of the rabbit club. After finishing the 2022 season in the second division, the Lanzarote Racket Club for the first time since its 30th anniversary, it will debut in one of the most demanding leagues on the national scene.

The main objective of the team is permanence since it is the first year that it participates in a league of this category, but the ambition of the club is very high.

They will meet with flyers from all over the peninsula and will fight to opt for one of the 2 places that ascend to First Silver.

Very young players will make up the lineup of the Conejero team, with the average age being between 23 and 24 years. The team will be made up of 4 girls and 4 boys, who will be under the coach’s orders, Miguel Barbado. In this team there will be several rotations since the level of almost all the players is very high, and all will have the opportunity to prove their worth in the various appointments.

As Barbado tells us, “It’s going to be a league with a high level, but I’m sure we’re going to be up to the task. At Lanzarote Raqueta Club we like challenges.”

As it is a team competition, there are several differences from conventional individual competition:

The National League is played in a total of 4 sleeves, a manga in each of the first months of the year (January, February, March and April). In each of them, the 12 teams that occupy the division gather in the same pavilion, thus disputing 3 matches for each team.

The clashes are between two teams, which make an alignment with a total of 7 matches, which are the modalities of Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Men’s Doubles, 2 Women’s Individual matches and 2 Men’s Individual matches)

Each party competes best of 5 sets 11 points each. Since 3 of the sets are won, the match would be considered won.
