‘Schreuder’s successor at Ajax is already ready’

Alfred Schreuder is under a lot of pressure at Ajax, although people retain internal confidence in him. But with a bad season resumption in January, it is almost inevitable that he will be sacked.

And then John Heitinga could just become the new head coach. Business observer Rob Jansen says in a podcast of 433 that he thinks that the current coach of Jong Ajax ‘is ready’. To the question ‘whether Heitinga could step in immediately’, Jansen answers ‘yes’.

According to the agent, “clubs nowadays often look at tactical aspects” when finding a new trainer. “But at the end of the day it’s about whether you can manage the egos in the locker room. That is the most important thing, especially at a club like Ajax. You work with egos of 24 entities in a selection.”

Koeman

Jansen further elaborates on the fact that Ronald Koeman (whom he represents) fell victim to financial mismanagement at FC Barcelona. “It was an emotionally painful process for him. Because he suffered, I suffered too. Until the tears that were expressed in private by the family. But for me it was also a process in which I saw again what football is on a world level. Because this is the top of the world. The ignorance is astounding. The politics, the power, the egos, the narcissism that reigns on that level. The battle, the lies, the deceit, that you can’t win.”
