(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Seong-Hyun Seong = The ‘2022 National Multicultural Family Badminton Competition’, which promotes harmony and friendship among multicultural families by exchanging shuttlecocks, will be held on the 10th at the Goyang Gymnasium in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.
Co-hosted by Yonhap News, the national key news agency, and the Goyang City Sports Association, and sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Goyang City, Korea Healthy Family Promotion Agency, and Yonhap News TV, 300 multicultural families from across the country compete to compete.
It is divided into three events: general singles (men and women), couple doubles, youth singles (men and women), and youth division.
On the day of the preliminary round, the finals will be held.
T-shirts, rackets, souvenirs, and snacks are provided to all participants, including players and their families.
The opening ceremony will be attended by Yonhap News Agency CEO Sung Ki-hong, Gender and Gender Vice Minister Lee Gi-soon, Goyang Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, Goyang City Sports Association President Na Sang-ho, Family Healthy Citizens Group Chairman Cho Hee-geum, and Korea Multicultural Solidarity Chairman Kim Jae-yoon to encourage the athletes and their families.
This competition has been held every year since 2010 with the purpose of strengthening ties among multicultural families through healthy sports and providing a place for communication.
Over the past two years, the competition continued despite the difficulties of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) pandemic (global pandemic).
Considering that the event was attended by a large number of people, the organizers made every effort to ensure safety by arranging disaster safety managers on site.
