A postponement for the pre-season couple involving Sicily and Calabria: that’s why
The first edition of Strait Trophyinitially scheduled for Tuesday 20 December, has been postponed to Wednesday 5 April 2023.
The challenge between the winning teams of the Sicily Cup and the Calabria Cup, which will pit Siaz Piazza Armerina against Vis Reggio Calabria, for organizational reasons was postponed to the end of the regular season of Serie C Gold Memorial Fathallah.
To announce it, through a joint note, are FIP Sicily and FIP Calabria (regional committees of the Italian Basketball Federation).
What is the Trophy of the Strait
The first edition of the Trofeo dello Strait is only postponed, not cancelled. It’s about a basketball preseason cup which unites the regional sporting events of Sicily and Calabria.
In this first edition there will be a competitive meeting between Siaz Piazza Armerina e Vis Reggio Calabriathe teams that passed the regional finals Olympia Comiso and Basket Academy Catanzaro in Sicily and Calabria.
