Jayson Tatum had 29 points and 11 rebounds, Jaylen Brown also scored 29 points and the Boston Celtics beat the Los Angeles Clippers 116-110 on Thursday night.
Derrick White finished with 15 points and blocked a Paul George layup with 33 seconds left in the game and Boston leading by three. Brown hit two free throws near the end and Tatum made another to close out the scoring.
Marcus Smart had 17 points and nine assists, Grant Williams had 11 points and 10 boards and Al Horford added a block in the final seconds for Boston, which has won four straight. It was the second game coached by assistant Damon Stoudamire, who is filling in for Joe Mazzulla, who has a corneal abrasion.
Kawhi Leonard had 26 for the Clippers, George had 24 and Ivica Zubac had 13 points and 11 rebounds. Los Angeles had won four of its last five and swept back-to-back meetings with Detroit and Toronto this week.
The Celtics (25-10) entered the seven-game home series with three losses, but have won their last four to maintain the best record in the NBA.
