Nothing is going well for the Toronto Raptors, who lost in overtime 104 to 101 against the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Monday night.

This is the sixth straight loss for Canada’s only NBA team.

The “Sixers” led most of the game by almost 10 points, until Nick Nurse’s men began the fourth quarter with rage in their stomachs. The Raptors even took an eight-point lead at some point in that engagement, but the Pennsylvania team managed to come from behind to put a spoke in the wheels of the Raptors.

Pascal Siakam finished the game with 38 points and 15 rebounds. The strong Cameroonian winger did not hesitate to make breakthroughs towards the basket to give his team a chance to leave the American city with a victory.

For their part, Scottie Barnes and Fred VanVleet had a difficult encounter, collecting six and nine points respectively. The latter only managed three of his 15 shots.

Quebecer Chris Boucher completed a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in 30 minutes of play.

Among the locals, Joel Embiid pleased the thousands of supporters present in the amphitheater by concluding the game with 28 points and 11 defensive rebounds. Teammate Tobias Harris was the most effective player, hitting five shots from downtown on seven attempts, while missing just two shots from close range.

In overtime, the Raptors were not opportunistic. They missed several important chances and only added two points to the board.

Head coach Nick Nurse has his work cut out for him as the Raptors look to end that drought on Wednesday against the Knicks in New York.
