Towards the winter meetings the manager of the National Team

The general manager of the Puerto Rican team, Joey Solá and the third base coach Luis “Papa” Riverawill travel this Monday to San Diego to participate in the ‘Winter Meetings’ of the Majors, with a view to the upcoming World Baseball Classic (WBC), the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation reported in a statement.

During the event, both will participate this Tuesday in a meeting of managers and leaders with the media. Rivera will be representing the leader Yadier Molinawho is working in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, as a pilot for the Navegantes del Magallanes team.

“We will have a meeting with the media and there will be a meeting with the leaders and general managers of all the teams in the World Baseball Classic. It is an activity to break the ice and continue work towards the event”, explained the general manager.

The ‘Winter Meetings’ is an event that takes place the first days of December each year.

The 30 Major League teams and their Minor League affiliates meet for four days to discuss league business and conduct off-season trades and transactions.

Attendees include league executives, team owners, general managers, team scouts, visitors from baseball-playing countries, trade show exhibitors and job seekers with minor league organizations.
