THE STATEMENTS

Max Menetti, coach of UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia: “We come to this challenge with the desire to rediscover that continuity that we have lacked so far. The good news is the return of Michele Vitali, who trained with the team all week, and the return to the group from yesterday of Mikael Hopkins. At the same time, unfortunately we have Momo Diouf in the pits, also affected by the flu, and we will only see in the pre-match whether he will be able to play or not. We will have to play a brilliant game, I hope that the warmth of our people can push us to put in a good performance, compact and with the right spirit to go back to winning a home victory. Trieste is a “cheeky” team with two main references on the perimeter: Bartley and Gaines. We will have to pay close attention to their one-on-one situations and have the ability to transform good defenses into counter-attacks and runs, which we are struggling to do so far.”

Andrea Vicenzutto, assistant coach Trieste Basketball: “Compared to last week we had one more day to get better prepared and we tried to make the most of it in our training sessions. The only problem was represented by small physical ailments to two players that prevented us from fully training during the week. We are monitoring their situation on a day-to-day basis as it is evolving. Having said that, the boys have done their best to try and get ready in the last few days with the aim of preparing for a difficult match against a team that will fight a lot”.
