Australian Open 2023: Tommy Paul wins US duel in quarterfinals against Ben Shelton

“The first time on this place, the first time a Grand Slam quarterfinals – it’s been a really good journey for me so far,” said Tommy Paul. “I can’t believe I’m standing here now.”

“It’s amazing, he absolutely deserves it,” praised ex-pro Markus Zoecke, who accompanied the match for Eurosport as a TV expert.

Paul and Ben Shelton fought a close duel. Ultimately, Shelton’s higher error rate, who allowed 50 unforced errors (Paul’s 26), made the difference.
