Recognized in France for 25 years as the benchmark for players aged 13 to 15, the La Mie Câline Basket Go tournament is back for a regular season stopover in Gimont. Since 1997, this essential tournament for the U15s has been part of the objectives of promoting amateur basketball and sharing moments of happiness for the youngest; values ​​that correspond to those of the La Mie Câline brand and to all the actors involved in the organization of this real French Cup in the category.

Sunday January 29the matches of this local pre-qualification tournament “La Mie Câline Basket Go”, organized by theES Gimontwill take place at Stone Gymnasium from 9h30. The event is free and open to the public. The winners will continue the adventure and participate in the second qualifying phase in the spring to hope to win their ticket for the Vendée and participate in the national finals of “La Mie Câline Basket Go” which will take place on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 June 2023 in Challans and Around.

The La Mie Câline Basket Go tournament is organized in three phases
A pre-qualification phase (from September to April) pits the teams against each other, locally, according to their level of competition (Departmental, Regional or Elite). A second qualification phase (in April-May) allows the winners of the first phase tournaments to meet to get their ticket for the finals. Finally, the national finals (June 10 and 11, 2023), the big meeting which brings together the best teams of the season, qualified for two days of 100% basketball competition, in Saint-Jean de Monts, Challans and throughout the North – West Vendée. This unmissable weekend is a real basketball party for all the U15s in France, in the presence of prestigious ambassadors of French basketball. Boris Diaw, Nicolas Batum, Nando de Colo, Evan Fournier, Florent Pietrus, Isabelle Yacoubou or even Emilie Gomis and Olivia Epoupa… for more than 20 years, all these champions have already come to encourage future generations during the national finals of ” La Mie Câline Basket Go” in Vendée.

In the footsteps of Wembanyama…

Thanks to the support of local La Mie Câline franchisees and thanks to the Fédération Française de Basket-Ball, more than a thousand men’s and women’s teams take part in the La Mie Câline Basket GO adventure each year in France. This benchmark tournament is also a meeting place for recruiters, a showcase and a springboard for young players, many of whom have turned professional after participating in La Mie Câline Basket Go when they were under 15: from Nicolas Batum, via Fabien Causeur, Valériane Ayayi, Olivia Epoupa and more recently, Victor Wembanyama in 2018, with the JSF Nanterre…to name but a few!
