US forward Xeyrius Williams is leaving the Würzburg Baskets with immediate effect and moving from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) to Hapoel Haifa in Israel. This was announced by the Lower Franconia one day after the narrow defeat against champion Alba Berlin (76:79).
“Xeyrius apparently had a well-paid offer and asked us to give him the go. We did so after careful consideration. We will receive a fee from his new club,” said managing director Steffen Liebler.
Williams had come from Greece in the summer. In his 16 BBL games for the Baskets, the 25-year-old was always in the starting lineup.
