Belgians abroad: Monaco dismisses Brest and joins the top 4, Brecht Dejaegere decisive with Toulouse

Monaco, without Eliot Matazo, won 1-0 against Brest for the 17th day of the French championship on Sunday. At the same time, Toulouse, with a goal and an assist from Brecht Dejaegere, got rid of Ajaccio (2-0).

Aleksandr Golovin scored the only goal of the game for the Monegasques at the start of the second half (54th). Eliot Matazo followed the meeting from the bench.

With this victory, the team coached by Philippe Clement climbs to 4th place in the standings with 33 points, the same total as Marseille, 3rd with one game less. Brest are 17th with 13 points.

Thanks to this success, Clermont climbs to 9th place with 22 points, two less than Lyon, 8th.

ENGLAND

Nottingham Forest snatched the 1-1 tie against Chelsea for the 18th day of the English football championship on Sunday. Orel Mangala played 78 minutes for Forest.

Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea the lead at the start of the game (16th) but Serge Aurier restored equality in the second half (63rd) before the exit of Orel Mangala (78th).

In the standings, Nottingham are 18th with 14 points while Chelsea are 8th with 25 points, the same total as Fulham, 7th.
