CFM: Hernán Losada spoke with Kei Kamara and hopes to see him on the pitch next week

Hired by CF Montreal on December 21, Hernán Losada is in his second week of training camp at the helm of the team and he is happy with what is happening on the field.

He is especially satisfied to see that his players have arrived ready for the next season which will begin on February 25.

“All the players came back in good physical condition, good mentality and energy. It’s important after two months of vacation that everyone came back in good condition. What is happening on the ground is very good. “, said the new head coach on the show 5 to 7 Wednesday.

Losada expects to soon be able to count on Kei Kamara, whose case made headlines after he demanded an exchange on social media while failing to show up for camp. Sick, he stayed in Africa, but he has just returned to Montreal and he must now submit to the return to action protocol before reuniting with his teammates. The two men have already discussed together twice, last Sunday and Tuesday.

“Kei arrived yesterday. He is still a player in our team. He will do all the MLS protocol checks and we hope he will be with us on the pitch next week. We’ll see what happens,” Losada explained.

Losada comes on after a historic year for CF Montreal. There have been several changes to the roster with player transfers and the departure of a highly regarded coach in Wilfried Nancy. For him, the next season is not a year of transition, he expects good results.

“It’s great for the club to have had a good season with Wilfried. Now there are players who have left, and it’s a new year. With great pleasure we will also try to have a good season. Maybe we will win fewer games, but go further in the playoffs, ”he said.

“I want to see a very aggressive team, which plays attacking football. We will try to entertain the fans, have a good season, especially at home, and win. We also want to give opportunities to young players from the Academy, it’s in the club’s philosophy. We will do everything possible to make it happen. »

Losada arrives in Montreal with a reputation for being a hard coach with his players, but he assures that he knows how to maintain a balance between work and pleasure.

“There are times to laugh and times to be serious. I am a former player, I know very well how it is, I know the difference between being a player and being a coach. It’s also important for me to have fun on the pitch. »

Since the team made the jump to MLS in 2012, Losada is the ninth man to serve as head coach in Montreal. He hopes to bring stability to this position.

“I have a contract for two years with an option for a third. I hope we can establish stability, not just for me, but for the team. The results are very important. I’m here for Montreal. »
