Elkan Baggott was absent when Gillingham FC met Leicester City in the FA Cup. The Gills were defeated by Brendan Rodgers’ troops 0-1.

Gillingham faced Premier League team, Leicester City, in the third round of the 2022/2023 FA Cup. The duel took place at the Priestfield Stadium, Saturday (7/1/2023) evening WIB.

Elkan Baggott has not been included in Gillingham’s squad. The Indonesian national team star is reportedly injured and has missed the last two matches in League Two.

Gillingham was able to hold off Leicester’s attack in the first half. The two teams played out a goalless draw until halftime.

Leicester broke the deadlock in the 56th minute. Kelechi Iheanacho broke into Gillingham’s goal after receiving Kasey McAteer’s cross which hit Jamie Vardy.

The visitors managed to maintain their advantage until the second half ended. Game over for Leicester 1-0 victory.

This result brought Leicester to qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup. Gillingham must be eliminated and end their adventure in the competition.
