At Netflix, many sports have taken the aspiration of Formula 1. The series Drive to survive, devoted to the best pilots in the world, will be followed by new serials. As announced, Break Point, the one dedicated to tennis, will be released this Friday, January 13. The cameras of the streaming platform were invited on the men’s and women’s tennis circuits but also near the golf greens: Full swing will be released two days later.

All of these projects were probably influenced by the success experienced by The Last Dancededicated to the career of Michael Jordan, and, therefore, Drive to Survive, whose fifth season will be available from February 24. The exclusive driver interviews, behind-the-scenes and racing footage appealed to the general public, although some early fans pointed to a tendency to accentuate the drama.

Netflix presents itself as the “first storyteller in sports” with these “exclusive behind-the-scenes stories” from the sports world. According to early reviews, Break Point won’t teach avid tennis followers much. The cameras followed a group of players on and off the courts and focused a lot on the mental difficulties encountered by the athletes. For its part, golf will be entitled to eight episodes which are particularly interested in the demanding program reserved for golfers of the PGA Tour.
