The private jet of Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen, registration PH-DTF, recently received a remarkable upgrade.
The Dassault Falcon 900EX of the two-time world champion spent some time at Basel airport for maintenance after the end of the Formula 1 season at the end of last year. The aircraft has been in use again for several weeks, with Schiphol being the first destination on 13 January. During the maintenance period, not only the technical condition of the aircraft was checked, but the interior of the jet was also taken care of. The driver, who is known to regularly participate in virtual racing sessions in addition to the ‘real work’, has had a true racing simulator built in the aircraft.
Red Bull team advisor Helmut Marko recently revealed this when he was questioned about frustrations which Verstappen expressed about the organization of a simulator race. According to Marko, this negative experience does not detract from the driver’s motivation: ‘He even had his private plane converted so that he can sim race in the air in the future. But that’s a good thing, because Max needs this distraction. In any case, it has done him no harm with his two titles.’
