More than 300 judokas at the Ar Sterenn hall this weekend in Châteauneuf-du-Faou – Châteauneuf-du-Faou

At the start of the morning of Saturday January 14, 2023, the gymnasium in the Ar Sterenn room, in Châteauneuf-du-Faou, is still empty. Béatrice Rubeaux-Grandin, professor of the Judo Club Châteauneuvien, did not sleep much: “Last night, we had to prepare the room, and everything that two days of competition impose”. And for good reason: this Saturday’s interclub alone brought together 300 young judokas, from several Finistère clubs.

Jason Grandry, French champion in the room

“The morning was devoted to baby-dos”, adds Nathalie Derout, previously president of the club, judoka and deputy mayor in charge of associations and sports. The older children fought in the afternoon. In the stands too, there were people: the families and supervisors of the clubs had come to support their young champions. The Châteauneuvians had the honor of welcoming Jason Grandry, twice crowned French handijudo champion (- 100 kg), based in Pont-Croix. “I came to support my daughter,” he says. Sunday, January 15 was dedicated to the championship of Finistère cadets 1st division.
