MU used to buy a lot of mediocre players

Miracle Erik ten Hag began to look at Manchester United. Ten Hag believes that MU’s difficulties have been influenced by bad player purchases.

Ten Hag was recruited by MU from Ajax in July last year. The Dutch manager has become the Red Devils’ eighth tactician in the last nine seasons. Previously, MU had handled top managers including Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

However, MU’s results remained mble. The Red Devils have never really been able to compete in the Premier League. MU has only finished four times in the top four. Even last season, MU finished sixth with the lowest number of points in the history of the club participating in the competition.

Erik ten Hag revealed Manchester United’s problems at the start of his arrival. Ten Hag criticized the atmosphere in the locker room as well as MU’s previous transfer policy because, according to him, many were buying average players.

“Manchester United didn’t really get the respect last season,” Ten Hag told Football International, which was launched Daily Mail. “There’s no spirit. I don’t see any team dynamic in the squad.”

“His mental toughness was very low. I saw him as an outsider, and also knew that in my first weeks at the club. I saw the culture of the club. I asked ‘How could Manchester United be great?’

“The club has bought an unimaginable number of players in recent years, which are not good enough. Most of the purchases are mediocre, and at United the average is not good enough. The United shirt carries a heavy load,” added Ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag brought a number of top players to Manchester United last summer, including Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Lisando Martinez. As a result, MU shone after finishing fourth in the standings and still surviving in the League Cup (quarterfinals), FA Cup (fourth round), and Europa League playoffs.
