NBA, Adam Silver ready to overtake LeBron James on Jabbar: “We will stop the match to honor the record”

The NBA is ready for the most important record of all, namely the overtaking of LeBron James against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar which will probably take place in the first days of February. Adam Silver, league commissioner, on the sidelines of the challenge staged in Paris between the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls, commented on the record in this way:

“We will be very careful to ensure that that game is not only broadcast in the United States, but all over the world: we will stop the game and make sure we record and preserve those moments in the best way – we will do our best work as NBA archivists. We will keep the ball, the kit and all the rest aside: without, however, abandoning the idea that on the other side there will be a team that wants to win and not be distracted by celebrations like this. For sure then we will emphasize that passage, but then we will plan something different in the future to pay tribute to a milestone never before seen in league history. If LeBron continues at this pace, he could reach that milestone before the break for All-Star Weekend and Salt Lake City’s appointment with the all-star game would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate it ”.
