No winner at Mainz against Hoffenheim

FSV Mainz 05 and TSG Hoffenheim drew in their dress rehearsal for the “restart” of the Bundesliga. In the final test of preparation, the table neighbors at Mainzer Bruchweg played 2:2 (1:1) after two 75 minutes. At half-time, both Mainz coach Bo Svensson and TSG coach Andre Breitenreiter changed teams completely.

After a balanced start, Angelo Fulgini (28′) gave the hosts the lead with a powerful left-footed shot before TSG talent Justin Che (68′) equalized for the Kraichgauers just before the half-time whistle. The eleventh in the table from Hoffenheim also had the right answer to another goal by Leandro Barreiro (106th) thanks to center forward Munas Dabbur (138th).

In the first Bundesliga game of the year, both clubs are required to play away. While Mainz fell to table 16 on January 21. VfB Stuttgart is traveling with new coach Bruno Labbadia, the difficult guest appearance at European Cup contenders Union Berlin awaits TSG.
